Anticipation is at a fever pitch in Beijing as the 8th of August 2008 approaches. Adverts of the five Olympic mascots, Bei, Jing, Huan, Ying and Ni – whose names together say ‘Beijing Welcomes you’ – cover the city’s buses and billboards.
The construction cranes that once entangled the city’s skyline are now disappearing as most sporting venues are completed. The Chinese government has even formed a ‘hygiene police’ squad to levy fines against Beijing residents found spitting or littering!
As China fervently prepares for an Olympiad unlike any other, our DPM China outreach team is seeking to equip Chinese believers with resources for reaping a spiritual harvest unlike any other.
With over 10 million visitors expected to attend the Games, and only 7 million tickets available, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for reaching the people of China with the Good News of Christ!
Right now, we are looking for friends like you to be part of a different kind of Olympic team, as opportunities for evangelistic outreach abound before, during and after the Games.
